In January of 2015, Asia Law Portal published: 30 people to watch in the business of law in Asia in 2015. As 2016 approaches, Asia Law Portal is welcoming nominations for people to follow in the business of law in Asia in 2016. Asia Law Portal will publish the 2016 list in early January.
As Yun Kriegler outlined in The Lawyer in June of 2013: “As Asia-Pacific becomes a critical part of the global legal services industry and its key economies and jurisdictions become more closely interlinked, the need for a holistic view of the legal landscape has never been greater.” “People who have spent some time in Asia, Kriegler continued, “will know the markets there are still in their early years and public information on the legal industry is scarce.”
With this in mind, Asia Law Portal last year inaugurated an annual tradition of seeking to highlight those who are integral to shaping the business of law in Asia.
The criterion for inclusion in the 2016 list is:
- The 2015 list will be incorporated by reference into the 2016 – so all new names, please.
- People nominated should in some way be involved in the business of law in the Asia-Pacific Region. This might include lawyers and legal professionals in startups, NewLaw, BigLaw, GlobalLaw, boutique law firms, regional elite firms, legal journalism, consultants to the profession, legal recruiting or other services providers to the profession. Anywhere where interesting work is being done at the intersection of law and business in Asia.
With this criterion in mind, please send nominations via email to jg@asialawportal.com. Please include the names of nominees, and a link to their professional profile (e.g. LinkedIn, website or blog). Any relevant information on why you believe they should be included in the 2016 list. Thank you in advance for any nominations and thank you also for your readership.
