Asia-Pacific Region holds much opportunity for private equity
The Asia-Pacific region holds much opportunity for private equity funds according to a recent report by Bain. By 2025, Asia-Pacific will be home to 4 million people — four times as many people than in North America and Europe combined. The region is also becoming older, wealthier and technically more sophisticated — while at the same time producing more domestic consumption and an increase in exports in higher-value goods.
They noted how digital transformation of the economy is creating sweeping changes in Asia’s B2B industries — which have led to large investment in a variety of sectors and geographies. Bain detailed how “Investors across the region piled a record $36 billion into 371 Internet-related deals in 2015 and another $15 billion into 141 technology companies.”
